When we first find out we are having a baby the first thing we dream about is the perfect nursery.

One of the most important items we need to fill our nursery is the crib. With so many cribs on the market which one should you purchase? Or if you receive a hand me down crib make sure that you check that they meet today's safety standards which are:

" Make sure that there are no more than 2 3/8 inches between crib slats " So baby's clothing does not get caught in the corner posts be sure that they are not over 1/16 inches high " The headboard or foot board should not have any cutouts so the baby's head cannot get trapped " A tight-fitting firm mattress should be used so a baby cannot get trapped between the mattress and the crib " If an older crib is used make sure the paint contains no lead

Should I get a convertible crib or a drop side crib? There are advantages and disadvantages to both.
