Different sets come with different things. If it is for a newborn, though, you don’t want to put anything in the bed except for a fitted sheet and maybe a light receiving blanket (although, even a light blanket is sometimes discouraged due to the possibility of SIDS, I did use one for both of my children).

well some sets come with a sheet, comforter, crib skirt and bumper. But be advised that most only come with a few of the above mentioned. Anyway, you put it together like you would make your own bed. skirt, sheet and then the bumper. Don’t use the comforter…that is mostly for show. And some mom’s don’t agree with using the bumpers either….I myself used them. Good luck!

You can buy lots of crib bedding sets, but to me they are a waste of money. Due to the risk of SIDS you cant use the bumper, or the blanket. Why not customize the nursery?
Buy 3 or so crib sheets and at least 2 mattress pads for underneath. Purchase a MESH crib bumper in white, light green, pink, blue or even yellow. Then you can get your wall decorations and diaper stacker to make the room unique to your baby.

My suggestion is just put a fitted sheet over a firm mattress with nothing else in it. Reduce the changes of SIDS. Just my recommendation. bumpers/comforters are just for decoration. If you are worried about your baby getting too cold, dress your baby in a warm zip up sleeper. Carters makes really nice, warm ones.
