Crib bedding is really expensive and there aren't a lot of options--I really want to make my daughter's room special-I saw a few sites where people actually sewed their own crib bedding-is it worth my while?

I haven't...but I do know how expensive those sets are. In reality, the only thing you really need is a crib sheet which can be inexpensive. When they actually start sleeping in their crib and moving around the bumper is unsafe and the quilts useless. I wish I had skipped the set, bought a solid crib sheet, and spent more on wall hangings or a better mobile because the mobile that came with our set was horrible. We ended up buying the Fisher Price one any way.

Craigslist.com, ebay.com, I also found that buying the "sets" is CRAZY expensive. I was given a whole bunch of crib blankets when I had my son... I found the best way to go is to buy the sheets separately. I found a bumper/sheet set for $16 dollars at Walmart. Then you buy an extra sheet or two and 2 mattress covers (so you can change the crib right after and incidents). I know it's kind of a pain to piece everything together but it sure beats paying $150 for 1 blanket, 1 bumper, 1sheet, and some ruffle? Also try looking at 2nd hand places.

The site also had a crib set that was hot pink, black & white with poodles. It had a white chenille poodle pillow. My daughter-in-law is looking for hot pink, black and lime green bedding for the nursery-Can you help us find an affordable set or place to have it custom made???

I purchased a "emily" mini crib, and I couldnt find any bedding that I liked that fit a mini crib, I found regular sized bedding on sale and sprung for the purchase and was hoping someone could help me w/ the "how to" cut it down (the sheets and baby bumber not the blankets) to fit the mini sized crib. I have 1 sheet that fits the crib can I use that as a pattern?!? I'm a bit clueless help!!

You'll want to be really careful on the sheet because it needs to fit snug. You can use the sheet that fits as a pattern and then if it's still a tad bit loose, you can buy sheet smoothers that hold the sheet in place. As for the bumper, I would recommend taking measurements of the crib, and then cutting in the middle of each side, however much you need to cut, and then sowing it back up. The reason I suggest doing it that way is because you'll want to keep the strings that attach to the crib in tact that way you don't have to worry about your baby pulling it and them breaking.
